FAQ

I can't watch videos on my computer.

To watch videos, you will need to have Flash Player installed on your computer.

Click here to download Flash Player.

I have installed Adobe Flash Player but still don't see any Flash content. Why?

Flash content may fail to display because of:

- Pop-up blockers blocking Flash

The most common cause of Flash movies failing to display is the presence of a pop-up or ad blocker software that specifically targets Flash content. To find out more about this, please see: Flash movies do not appear after installing the Flash Player.

- Internet utilities blocking ActiveX

Some Internet Utilities, such as Norton Internet Utilities, perform functions similar to a firewall and may restrict viewing of ActiveX controls. You need to ensure that your firewall or utility settings are set to allow ActiveX controls or you will not be able to view Flash movies in Internet Explorer.

- Internet Explorer security and ActiveX settings (skip if not using Internet Explorer)

Make sure that Internet Explorer security default level is set to Medium. This level allows viewing ActiveX controls, such as Flash Player. To set browser security to Medium, perform the following steps:
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Choose Tools > Internet Options.
3. Select the Security tab.
4. Select Trusted Sites zone.
5. Select the Default Level button. (If the Default Level button is dimmed, continue to the next step).
6. Move the slider until the security level is Medium.
7. Select Apply.
8. Select the Internet zone.
9. Repeat steps 5 - 7. When done, select OK.

- Internet Explorer Settings on a Mac

On the Macintosh there is a setting in Internet Explorer to enable plug-ins. This setting is located in Preferences menu of the browser. In the Preferences dialog box, select Web Content under Browser Display. Then ensure that the Enable Plug-ins option is selected.

My browser does not support iframes.

If you get a message that says "Your browser does not support iframes," you will need to update your browser to be able to view the videos.

The video is playing but I cannot hear anything.

Please check that your computer is equipped with a sound card and speakers or headphones.

You can verify the audio settings on your computer by following these steps:

On a PC, click on the Start button
 Select Settings, then Control Panel
 Double-click on 'Sound and Multimedia'
 Select the 'Audio' tab
Click on 'Volume' to check your settings

On a Mac, go to System Preferences
Click on 'Sound' to check your settings

The video window appears but the video doesn't start playing.

Your internet connection may be too slow. Your viewing experience will depend on the speed of your internet connection.

You need at least a DSL or cable connection to watch the videos. A 56k dial-up connection is insufficient to view the videos properly.

I get an "Error 19" message.

This message occurs if the server is down, or if you are working behind a corporate firewall. Please contact your network administrator.

My firewall or proxy server prevents me from watching the videos.

Your company may have a network configuration that blocks videos. Your network administrator can change the settings on your computer in order to give you access to streaming videos. (You may have to ask your network administrator to open port 80, which allows audio and video streaming.)

See Adobe Pages for more information on Flash Communication Server Firewall Port Test

My proxy server doesn't allow streaming video.

Please ask your system administrator to enable your proxy server to receive streaming video. This does not present a security threat to your system.
